Visited Masson Mills Textile Museum in Derbyshire this morning. They have a museum with working machines that process fleece into threads and then into fabric. We had the place practically to ourselves. It had a wonderfully abandoned air to it. It was packed with machines, some with work left unfinished on them, others just standing there in rows, motionless and dead. There were cardboard people, bleached almost colourless, positioned like ghosts about the place. An industrial graveyard of sorts.
