This Lalaloopsy Free Dress Pattern – Half and Half Knitting and Sewing is a simple pattern for a half knit and half sewn Lalaloopsy dress, thus the name. It should fit Lalaloopsy and similar sized dolls. For a similar dress to fit Blythe sized dolls please go here.

- A 41cm x 9cm rectangle of fabric for the skirt section.
- A few fabric snaps for closure (I personally like to use 3)

Fabric Skirt Section
Iron your fabric flat.
Cut a rectangle of length 9cm and width 41cm.
Turn in the bottom and sides of the rectangle to create a neat edge.
I also like to zig-zag stitch the upper edge to reduce fraying later on.
Use a long gather stitch to gather the top of the rectangle to a length of approx 19cm.
Combining and Finishing
Pin the skirt to the bodice right sides facing one another, sew the skirt to bodice section.
Sew in the trailing yarn tails.
Add ribbons, lace, or other embellishments to suit personal taste.
Attach 3 snaps at back. The first at the top of knitted section. The second at the point where knitted bodice meets fabric skirt. The third should be placed about 1/2 way down the skirt.
I’ve knitted this dress up about half a dozen times at this point and I THINK the pattern is accurate. If you do spot any issues please PLEASE let me know in the comments so I can correct them for future pattern users.
—— Last updated 27th July 2019 – correction to row 6 (thank you Jill Camfield for spotting that error) ——
Lovely pattern thank you for sharing, my daughter has requested a dress for her lalaloopsy for Christmas and this is exactly what I was looking for.
Sinead, I believe you have a typo in your pattern.Row 6 has an extra K2 and KFB after the first K4. I could only get the 36 stitches after taking it out.
Check it and see, will you?
Hello Jill
