Ear savers are small strips of yarn, fabric or plastic that straps can be wrapped around to prevent ear chafing. Wearing a face mask for any length of time can be uncomfortable, especially on the ears. Health workers in particular are reporting developing blisters on there ears from the mask straps rubbing them painfully. Some facilities are asking for donations of ear savers.
If you want to help front line workers these ear protectors are relatively straight forward to make. They can be made from plastic (with a 3D printer), knitted from yarn or sewn from fabric or ribbon.
The finished product should be a 4 inch by 1 inch strip of material with a button on ether end for the elastic to be wrapped around.
