Burda 3/2008 114

This is the third time I've made this skirt to date. There's just something wonderful about an item of clothing that has pockets that are actually big enough to be useful. The only difference to the original pattern is that I line the skirt. I find it hangs better with a layer of lining. Burda 3/2008 114The fabric is the last of a 6 yard bolt of Vlisco Dutch-African waxed cotton I purchased in London a while back.

Two of a kind – Simplicity 1364

Simplicity 1364 is a re-issued vintage top with a boat (bateau) neckline. It's probably one of the easiest patterns I've ever come across. So easy I've made View B twice.

Simple Sew Lottie blouse

The June edition of Love Sewing came with a free pattern for the Lottie blouse. I confess I only bought the magazine for the pattern. I had some vintage fabric lying about at home that I thought would be perfect (read delightfully psychedelic) for just such a pattern.

DIY fabric Pandora style european bead bracelet

About 8 years ago I came across these lovely modular bracelets in a small jewelery store in Montreal. That was the beginning of my obsession with European Beads. Now there everywhere. These days you can buy or make all sorts of bracelets in metal, leather, string and fabric to show off your beautiful beads. The pattern below is for a triple wrapped silk fabric bracelet. IMG_7528 As modeled by Vera, a rubber hand I found in the office. Doesn't she look pretty?
